karma & its ways of working: COVID-19 IS a PRE-EXISTING MEDICAL CONDITION

I am not one who believes in karma as a general rule–those ideas seem to be wishful thinking of the fucked over, we always try to tell ourselves that it will always come back and get those who have fucked us over, and then ultimately it becomes the excuse we give ourselves to let things go when we feel especially hurt and prone. People use fate in the same way, though most of the time you’ll see fate used as the magical reason to reason good things are happening to someone and karma is the magical excuse we use to correlate the bad things.

I’ve been wondering even still how so many people have gotten COVID so wrong-the people who are out there suggesting people’s health is the reason they deserve to die–their weakened condition, their weight, their disease they had being things we have no issue reasoning their existence away away with, never really allowing ourselves the space in our minds to consider they don’t have to die, and we as members of their community have a hand in that. Sure, I’ve made mention some of you are absolutely psychopathic or even just numbly sociopathic, but do understand that detachment is not something that’s as easy to maintain when you are enduring the same personal pains and sickness of those you had shamed.

Do understand that today’s COVID infected are now tomorrow’s people who were sick it will be easy to reason away if you continue to do that–trust me it will get ingrained in the public conscience that some people deserve to die because of their ill health, and your life will be treated with the same cavalier disdain you yourself dished out to those who were ill and died. And so this is where the karmic bitch slap has come in to teach people the lesson, once again, that if you don’t have something nice to say, or at least fucking helpful, it is better to shut your mouth entirely. It actually is amazing to me that people are using and have used that line–“I’m not fat, I am fine”, chuckled a guy to me the other day-he’s not as sick as some from outside appearances at least, but once again, this is an endothelial disease, and even some who have experienced no issues initially have come back into the hospital later to die of strokes or experience heart attacks. They know what the disease does, and if there are any people who have magical immunity, you are talking less than 1% of the population likely has that.

These thoughts today are inspired by an article I read here talking about the emotions people who have medical conditions have about how cavalier and detached the general able-bodied public has been about the sick-that we are somehow the sacrificial lambs of a society of people who might not be in the best health, never realizing the true irony that anyone who has had an infection at all has now been included in that mass of people they shamed. Some of us who avoided infection might end up being actually healthier than they are because our issues are located in single systems, whereas COVID seems to affect many which are key to healthy living. There are people who have perhaps a weaker genome than others who are suffering long COVID symptoms now, but certainly all the others have a potential for developing many of the same given the endothelium doesn’t usually show self-generating healing capabilities as a standard practice.
