Our Leadership Gave Up On Us: Did American immaturity push the government to abandon all prevention in favor of quicker infection to weed out the weak?

It sounds horrendous to contemplate, doesn’t it? But there is nothing that explains giving up on the last leg of the race. I predicted we wouldn’t all feel free and easy until next year, when I see our positives going down 90% at least in most places. Will it seem stupid in a few years that we couldn’t get it together to push until the last leg when we have already been at this so long already? I mean, think about it, isn’t it easier to continue on with a behavior you’ve already adjusted to then undo it and have to redo it again? Obviously we would all say that to any change we’ve been forced to endure in our behavior because it just makes sense. We are so close to the end of this, but we really need to starve the virus of opportunities to jump to people to continue on its mission of infecting everyone in the country-it is the only sensible thing to do. Will we do that? No, no no. We won’t and there will be lamentations later, should we have continued with mask mandates, saving such and such amount of lives.

I just looked to see the current US population: 332,403,650. If 23-30% seem all in to not fully vax that is 76,452,840-99,600,00 at just 30%, of those you expect another 30% might get long COVID of the 2% that will die of the infected. That’s a pool of at least 23k- 29,880,000 choosing to have a shitty end of life with long COVID for what, to show the libs you don’t understand science?!?! I mean if you consider that we have had 78,824,393 cases already and have had 935,922 deaths as of the am 2/10/2022 we are almost there to that 99.6-if you want to angle on the high end of the fact that only 77% of the US has has one shot and there is a good chunk who still need to be boosted clearly. That’s 7% of the population who have long COVID and what % of the US population has had COVID in any form, either unvaccinated, partially vaccinated or fully boosted? What % do you think that is? I mean sure, you’ve got the documented, who you have to assume are the ones who made into the hospital or doctor’s office to get an official test, but what about the people who had at-home ones who never registered with any authority, some worried about just that very thing with the pre-existing exclusions for insurance and other reasons. The point is you have what percentage of our population subject to shitty health outcomes for the next few decades when we have less of a labor pool to contribute to our retirement? It’s going to be messy and we will have to open our borders wide, but right now we have some bigger fish to fry and that is, at least for me, not giving up with one more lap to go. Sure they’re long laps, they suck they are tedious, but at this point how hard is it really to at least pretend you give a shit about other people in the world you live in? I live in the world, you live in the world, it’s our world, and being around a bunch of sick people isn’t going to be very fun for long.
